PROSPERITY, health and general well-being of any person depends to a large extent on the house in which he lives in.Indian Vasthu (Feng Shui) expert S.Yuvaraj says that for an occupant to have peace of mind, the position of his residence and his workplace should face the right cardinal direction.
The human body, he said was also influenced by the nine universal planets and its movements.He said that the 5,000-year-old Vasthu Sastra was both a science and art of ancient architecture.
Yuvaraj, whose family has been involved in Vasthu for seven generations, hails from Chennai. He will give a talk on the subject at 7pm today at the Summit Hotel, Subang Jaya.
“When we work with the wind, energy and planets, there is a better chance of us being happy and prosperous.
‘For example, to tap the utmost from the planets, the main gate of the house should not be in the direction of the south west.
“To be in harmony at the workplace, the person should face north or east”, said Yuvaraj, 32, who has been actively involved in the science for the last 10 years.
According to him, Vasthu Sastra is a science and not a religion.
“The knowledge might have emerged from spiritual beliefs But, there is a clear scientific explanation to this practice.”
Yuvaraj now has put his work on CD-ROM which comes in English, the first to be released by a Vasthu Sastra expert, to make it more reachable to the public.
The CD-ROM is the result of two years of work by Yuvaraj. Much of his time was spent on preparing the text and attaching it with appropriate video clippings and photographs.
The CD-ROM contains 60 chapters of intricate details of Vasthu rules demonstrated by a visual presentation.
Apart from explaining the details in simple language, he also talks about the type of materials that are needed in the construction of any building.
Yuvaraj said Vasthu helps to avoid disturbances. If you do not follow the right science then one will be working against the cosmic energy governed by the planets.
“Our body is ruled by five elements – earth, air, water, and ether – which is also part of earth’s make up. Hence these elements corresponding with the eight directions, determines how a building should be constructed.
“Most of the houses which are up for sale in India and in Asia are those bearing Vasthu faults.
“The beauty of this science is that it provides room for correction without demolishing or reconstruction the faulty houses,” said Yuvaraj.
“I first visit and examine the house myself after analysing the fault. I then prescribe the remedial measures to the occupant on the spot,” said Yuvaraj about his method of working.
Yuvaraj has been giving advice on Vasthu to top businessmen and industrialists in India.
“Some of these entrepreneurs come to me when their business does not do well.
“I check out their houses to see if their bed is in the right direction and the sleeping position always be aligned eastwest.
“The main door opening should be towards the right side.
“Ideally, the shape of the building should be either square or rectangular and if there is a staircase it should be clockwise,” he explained.
He also offered some useful tips for buildings under construction saying that the total number of doors, windows and pillars should be an even number while the number of steps should be of an odd number.
Toilets should face either the south ro north while there should be no windows at the south west corner. The home’s altar should face the east.
Vasthu and Feng Shui, he said were similar in many ways. However, the differences are in the remedial measures to maximise the energy flow.
“Over the years,’ he said, “the knowledge of Vasthu which is extracted from ancient Vedic culture was taken to China on the silk route.”
Yuvaraj in his talk today will touch on the science of building an ideal house, identifying a defective house, tips on building a new house, and the effects of the evil eye.
