VASTHU SASTRA-a science of ancient architecture had been hard to know but now it is available on the Net and CD-ROM. In other words, now it is close to high tech. In the CD-ROM – “Vasthu-Sastra”, one can go through 60 chapters having a fund of information.
From vasthu introduction to suitable wood or otherwise for building; from laying foundation to doorway, well site, rooms, pillars etc., one can hear, read and watch. Mr.P.C.Ramakrishna’s excellent presentation makes the audio part of this CD-ROM a real treat to the ears.
Nicely produced by Mr.Yuvaraj who belongs to an experienced tradition and is a computer buff by himself, this CD-ROM heralds a new era in taking Vasthu out to the people. “Since I studied computer, I had been thinking of making CD-ROMs on Vasthu”. This is the first part and the second is under way. For this venture I shall be grateful to my friends and clients who had been a great source of encouragement”, said Mr.Yuvaraj to The Hindu. What is Vasthu? ‘Vasthu’, the deity of plot is held responsible for the divine strength and good fortune of any building.
The rules state that those who fail to observe the principles of Vasthu could not lead a peaceful life’. Mr.Yuvaraj is not only in demand for new constructions, but also is much sought after for doing vasthu for old buildings without demolishing. Mr.Yuvaraj’s acumen spreads its wing to other countries too. “Nearly 60 clients per month are being served by me”, says Mr.Yuvaraj with pride.
Mr.Yuvaraj’s father Sowma, a well known astrologer, who had been editing ‘Ungal Ethirkaal Vilakkam’ (which Mr.Yuvaraj is currently editing) has this to say about his son, ‘When he was studying a technical course I was worried whether he will be interested in vasthu but without my knowledge he had completed half of the CD-ROM works and that made me happy.”
The CD-ROM was released at a function held on the September 9 in Chennai before a select gathering at Music Academy mini hall. In the content frame, each topic has many sub-topics and one is free to choose. But you cannot take a printout. “If that facility is provided then my business will go down”, says mr.Yuvaraj.
Whether ‘vasthu’ is an acceptable science, it is a debate that is still on. But one thing is certain. Science itself has taken ‘vasthu’ in its belly in the form of CD-ROM. |
